This hunt was intended to be different. We thought of a "Capture The Flag" concept. At the start we announced the rules and declared the "Flag" as the "On the Border" restaurant at Parkway Plaza (T2 on map). We allowed 20 minutes for the hunters to organize and take up positions to defend the flag. At 6:35, we turned on the transmitter and started our approach from Grossmont Center (T3 on map). To make it easier to track a moving target, the timing of the 1 W transmitter was adjusted to 15 seconds on and only 15 off. We had two plans. We could have wandered around a bit to try and confuse the hunters prior to the final approach. However, we decided on a direct approach where the hunters would see us coming from a direction but not know the distance until we had already passed. We traveled east along the I-8 to N Johnson Ave. From Johnson Ave north to Parkway Plaza. Then along the south edge of the plaza. The plan worked to get us past Joe and Tony. They were guarding the south west corner. We headed east along the south edge. We intended to go behind the building along the east edge. However," we were spotted by Dick and Mark at the end of the building at the south east corner (T1 on the map). Dick made the call to identify the ""grey Honda Civic"" on the hunt freq. Game over in under 15 minutes. Although Dick/Mark are the winners", Bill is going to hide for the next hunt.,Thanks for participating. Robert & Tim
