"The hunt consisted of five transmitters located within a radius of a quarter mile in a residential neighborhood, south of Lakeside. The transmitters were carefully timed to avoid overlap and used repeated , verbal ID tags during each transmission to minimize signal ID confusion for the five hunt teams that, participated. The main transmitter was a 35 Watt box with a hot rod whip antenna situated at the east, end of Melrose Lane near the top of a peak at a 820 ft elevation which provided a strong signal, at Grossmont College., , Transmitter T5 and T4 shared the same relative bearing from the T1 location but only T5 was locally accessible, about 0.2 mile to the north on Quail Terrace. T4 and T2 were only accessible via access from Los Coches Rd, to the east in the valley below T1. T3 was located at a closed gate at the end of an alternate road leading to a, water storage tank atop a nearby peak. All transmitter locations were within 20 ft of vehicle access and should require, only require minimal sniffing., The results as recorded on the transmitter sign-in sheets follows:, , AUW/VOC 5Ts, SZO/BAF 3Ts, ZAM/MHO 2Ts, ZM 2Ts, VCR 1T, , After the hunt, all the teams converged on Pernicano's Italian Restaurant in El Cajon., While these transmitter locations seemed to have fairly straight forward access with more than adequate signal levels, the the additional travel times needed to access all T locations while dealing with nighttime hunting, conditions proved to be a major negative factor. Apologies for conducting this hunt that was more appropriate, for a daytime hunt. It is hard to gage how difficult some hunts will be even with the best intentions., , Congratulation to Bruce AUW and Tom VOC for managing to find all the Ts and winning this hunt. , A discussion at the beginning of the hunt revealed that planned attendance at the 18 Feb hunt is expected to be very light light and it has been proposed to postpone that hunt until the next regularly scheduled hunt date in March., The AUW/VOC team can confirm and advise everyone as necessary., , KE6PHB / WB6ZMZ / W6VLF "
