This hunt was suppose to be very simple, but in an unfamiliar area to most of the hunters. A typical hunter should have been able to get to the fox rather quickly, but after I was setting up," Gary N6LRV called me on the cell asking if I needed any help. I gave direction to Gary and turned on my APRS because Gary has one installed in his vehicle as well and should be able to find me just by pushing the ""GO"" button on his Garmin. Gary and I spoke on a simplex frequency when he got close to my location so I could guide him if he couldn't find the place. As it turned out", even knowing where the spot was it was disguised rather well in the dark. The driveway that leads up to the hiding spot looks like it goes to a home so Gary didn't go up it until I directed him on the radio. Gary stated it is one great spot because it is disguised so well.Gary and I sat around and watched as VCR's team drove by to the east of us and stopped many times to get bearings. Then they disappeared into the darkness and showed up on the West side of us. They were turning around and going back down the same road they came on due to the locked gate in front of them. They stopped out of view because we could hear them talking and we could see beams of light from their flashlights on the hillside next to the road. Next, we could hear their vehicle start up and their voices disappeared again. They returned on the east side again but this time after getting a bearing Bruce directed them to go up the paved road which is when they found their way to us. About a half hour later Cliff and Jerry did about the same thing as Tom's team, but they couldn't find the driveway up the hill until 8:00 p.m.Mike and Tony were never heard from.
