Remarks

"W6BAF came up with the idea for this hunt having had a job in the area. Since everyone had a good time in Pine Valley with 12 Hidden T's back in January""€¹ this would be kind of a follow up type hunt. Sorry Tony, we did not know that you would not be on this hunt. We checked out the area several weeks ago and eliminated several locations. Probably should have eliminated the T-6 location and the lady with the $500,000 psychotic horse!, Had to re-think things Friday when one of the Micro-Foxes got hung up in some weird mode. The Byonics folks finally responded to me on Monday and said no one had ever had that problem before. Lucky me!, Greg and I met at the T-7 location about 8:30 AM Saturday morning and divided up the T's, tags, sign in sheets, locks etc. Had things set up by about 10:15 but was informed that one team was not there yet so the hunt did not start until they arrived about 10:45 and the main T was turned on., ""About that time some local residents came by and wanted to know if we were Surveyors because they needed someone to survey their property to the east of where we were set up. Of course about this time T-1 which was a Kenwood 2400 running 1/2 watt quit and things got hectic for a few minutes. Had to go to """"Plan B"""" with my trusty Kenwood F-6A . T-1 was 1/2 watt into 4 ele. M squared beam pointed towards Mt. Woodson. the rest of the T's were all squawk boxes or Micro-foxes."", From our vantage point we could look to the south where several of the vice T's were placed so that along with monitoring the APRS date we could tell when the teams that were running APRS were coming up the hill so had the camera ready! There were 5 teams involved with this hunt but we could only monitor 3 of them., Summary of events:, , Tom, K6VCR found all 10 T's in 3 hours and 45 minutes from the 10:45 start time, route was as follows, T-8, T-4, T-3, T-2, T-1,T-5, T-9, T-10, T-6 & T-7 at 2:30 PM, , Bruce, K6AUW & Tom, KJ6VOC found all 10 T's in 4 hours and 25 minutes, their route, T-4, T-3, T-2. T-1, T-5, T-9, T-8, T-6, T-7, & T-10 at 3:10 PM., , Bill, W6ZM & Brian, KI6DUR found all 10 T's in 4 hours and 35 minutes, their route, T-7, T-6, T-4, T-2, T-1, T-5, T-8, T-9, T-10 & T-3 at 3:20 PM., , Joe, KE6PHB & Jerry, W6VLF found 9 T's in 4 hours and 20 minutes, their route, T-7, T-1, T-2, T-5, T-6, T-9, T-8 (photo documentation because the sign in sheet was hidden so well!) T-3 & T-4 at 3:25 PM., , Bob, WB6JPY & Glen, AB6PA found 8 T's if you include finding T-4 three times, their route, T-9, T-4, T-4, T-4, T-1, T-5, T-2, and T-3 at 2:37 PM., , , We adjourned to the Santorini Island Grill for food, drink and discussion;, , Tom, K6VCR is the winner and will have to seek input on the next County-Wide hunt which would fall on New Year;s Eve!, , We hope everyone had a good time?, Joe N6SZO & Greg W6BAF"
